Can anyone explain why someone who was interested in engineering would want to take this option? Several excellent liberal arts colleges (like Bowdoin) are offering this path now. My question is with the number of excellent engineering schools that have a four year programs why would someone want to take what I see as a major detour and to go to Bowdoin before the final destination? I have no axe to grind with Bowdoin (it is indeed an excellent libral arts college, no doubt about it) just a curious old engineer, thats all.
