Lehigh has a work hard/play hard reputation with a heavy emphasis on frat life. Friend’s son is there now and has experienced a lot of pressure to get involved in the frat/party culture even though that’s not his thing. It has been a real turn off for him.
You mentioned an interest in experiential learning. WPI has a strong reputation in this regard with its signature project based learning approach. Another Massachusetts college also with an emphasis on project based learning is Olin College of Engineering.
