Law Schools will not view your engineering degree negatively. I have known many engineering students who went on to pursue Law Degrees. My personal belief is that a degree in Engineering, Chinese , Chemistry, Accounting etc. will make you a more marketable commodity after graduation fom Law or Business School than a Poli Sci, History, Business or Philosophy major although I have no data to support that (other than anecdotal). You could look for Law Schools that have a combined MBA/J.D program. An engineer ,fluent in Chinese with an MBA or J.D. would be pursued like the Prom queen in today’s marketplace IMO.
