<p>To add to my comments in the linked thread, UR is a very good size for humanities majors like English. A large school needs to cover many students for writing classes and perhaps distribution requirements. This stretches resources and can create competition for slots, even if writing classes are run separately. A small school can’t offer as much as a university. A smaller university like UR has the resources but not the issues of scale.</p>
