ESA animal mauls another passenger on airline flight

^^I’ll bet he could curl up under there if the price was right.

And if emotional support wine and beer was freely flowing!

United’s new ESA policy:

With a video of the peacock. “That happens all the time” - =))

There were at least a dozen dogs of all shapes and sizes in Home Depot today. And one being walked to relieve himself right out front.

I have never seen a single dog in HD in Maine or CT. (I was there on Tuesday, actually.)

I’m beginning to wonder if it is a regional thing.

BTW, I continue to be amazed by the docility of that poor peacock. He is adorable. I predict an upswing in peacock pets as a result.

Oh, I hope not. A family about a mile away from us used to have 2 peacocks. We could hear them squawk. Can’t imagine what the closer neighbors went though.

I saw dogs at our HD in Honolulu and at most malls and many stores. :frowning:

I see dogs at Home Depot too. I love my dog but the only stores he enters are petsmart and pet supplies plus.

Plenty of dogs here at HD, too. I think HD had “dogs are welcome” policy for a very long time, pre-dating the fake ESA explosion.

@Consolation I’ve wondered the same thing about the regionality of the “bring your pet with you everywhere” thing. Stores, restaurants here in my part of New England, I do not see it. Kids’ sporting events and other outdoor venues, yes, but thankfully around me folks have the sense not to bring their pets into businesses. I’ll occasionally see a service animal or one in training but that is all.

Has the passenger been interviewed after the fact? Is it possible she did it to highlight the absurdity of people claiming pets as ESAs?

The peacock girl is a performance artist. She had used the peacock and a pheasant (I think) in some installation art project. She afterward had them adopted but it didn’t work well for the peacock so she brought it back home. It really does appear the peacock has become a pet that is very attached to her. She had already been told 3 times that the peacock couldn’t fly on the plane by the airline way before she arrived at the airport. There is some speculation that her arrival at the airport was/ or will be part of another “art project”. She rented a car and drove to her destination with the peacock. Don’t know if the rental car agency wanted a peacock in their car.
That peacock from what I see in the video looks better behaved than some dogs I’ve seen.

And better behaved than some children

I give kids a pass even though a lot of people appear allergic to them…

Did someone lose their ESA human? =))

Plenty of dog here in HD, BBB, Target and even in some grocery stores. Frankly, I don’t have a problem with well behaved dogs in most places (except the grocery store).

In fact given a choice between a well behaved dog at Target etc. and a parent with a kid who runs between the racks, screams and is a general terror - I’ll take the dog any day of the week.

@doschicos --but they were going to Alaska. Were they afraid to get sued for frostbite afterward?

Well if you can’t take your hamster on the plane, there are other options.

Not sure what to say about this one. It sounds like a horrible joke.

That is absolutely horrible. For doG’s sake, she could put the hamster in her PURSE. It would survive just fine and no one would know it was there. What a dreadful, stupid, selfish thing to do. She definitely needs help. And not to have the care of any other helpless creatures.
