Although I do have evidence of one athlete who was rejected for a poorly written essay. this was one of the best junior athletes in the world, and her essay effort was weak. Admissions rejected her, so there she is, the most recruited athlete in her sport, in December of her senior year with no college. And the recruiting and application season over.</p>
<p>but as you point out, it was hers to lose, she could have easily won had she tried harder.</p>
