Ethics Essay Award

My apologies for this delayed response. Congratulations to tttdz and AF6872! (and thanks for the kudos!) You should be very proud, since your Mid’s essays were selected from amongst several hundred entries. If you have read up on this award, you will have noted that the first step in the process is to have the essay selected and submitted by one of the class instructors. A select set of essays is sent for review by an outside panel comprised distinguished educators/leaders. So by the time your Mid was selected as a finalist, it would have been read by many learned, wise individuals. That, in itself, is something to be very proud of.

All of the finalists are invited to the awards dinner, but as far as I know, only the parents of the winner are included. It is a wonderful evening. My wife and I were busting with pride, as dozens and dozens of those in attendance showered on our Mid (and us as well!). We were somewhat overwhelmed, in that we were not aware of the distinction of this award, or what an incredible event it would turn out to be. Our Mid (while usually modest anyway), kind of downplayed it from the beginning.

Again, congratulations to you, and your Mids!
