how’s the networking in general at UCLA?

in short, it is like everything else at a big public school: it’s available but you have to take the initiative to find it, cuz it won’t come find you. although if you are an alumni scholar, you’ll get a better networking experience since alumni’s donate for your scholarship and like to meet and even help out the scholarship winners.

if you’re referencing to USC as the other school, then i would think most people would agree with me that USC’s networking is much more tighter than UCLA’s.

“does the career guidance office help?”

yes, i’ve found them to be pretty helpful. there’s always drop-in counseling, and they are active in bringing in recruiters and hosting fairs for students. like i’ve mentioned earlier, just recently, many alumni in the entertainment field came back during “entertainment night” and students had the oppotunity to talk to them.

but as much help as the career center offers, isn’t going to spoon-feed you and give you a guaranteed job.
