faculty of science frosh

Hey Guys,

I thought I’d get it all cleared out for y’all regarding all the Frosh (orientation week) events.

Move-in day: get into your rez- meet people… its a tradition that first year residences all go out to Saint-Sulpice on St. Denis (a huge outdoor pub-beergarten) fun times…
Discovery McGill is a one-day event run by the University where they put everyone together and have the Principal and SSMU execs talk to first years about various things- and then you have a pizza lunch on the Campus Greens and then divide into Faculties and have orientation with your Deans and Student Societies… Pretty simple, that evening you’ll go out with your residence.
Faculty Frosh- starts the day following Discover McGill, this is a bunch of partying and fun activities run by your student societies and full of debauchery and good times. This goes for three days usually.
SSMU Frosh- this is run by the Students’ Society of McGill University (SSMU) this is campus wide with all first year faculty students’ participating… it’s pretty intense. Lots of Food, unlimited Beer, music, and pub crawls and trips to various clubs/bars. Other activies such as an outdoor carnival and group games as well as a river rafting trip (intense)!
If this isn’t for you and you’re more into doing something that could help you intelectually there are various other froshes: Radical Frosh is for the political activist/vegan/alternative lifestyle type, lectures, activism, vegan food et all.
Fish Frosh- is run by the Christian Coalition… I think thats obvious. Theres a few “froshes” run by various groups as well… you’ll see them advertising during Faculty Froshes.

You can attend both Faculty and SSMU froshes… and I advise you to.
Make sure to register ahead of time.
g’luck
