Fall 2015 UCLA transfer students

@heatherheather dude this question is a prime example of over analysis and obsession. Like read what you just wrote and then truly evaluate whether or not any of us would have even the slightest inkling of an idea so as to perhaps scratch the surface of a relevant answer to your question.

Lol.

I am starting to freak out a little (a lot).

I think the fact that some of our majors have changed could mean a variety o things:

  1. We are rejected from 1st choice major and we are being currently being reviewed for our 2nd choice. We could either be accepted or rejected.
  2. We got accepted to our alternate major because... Why would they go through the trouble of changing our major on there if they wanted to reject us?

What do you guys think? I hope it’s the 2nd one because I feel like it’s too late in the application cycle for them to be actually still reviewing applications… Or do they procrastinate more than we do?

I had also emailed them about something and have an ID # so I just tried and it let me make an account! It’s either a good sign or it means nothing at all haha

@81Mamba how’d you figure out it was the same one??

@fncrane I had a screenshot of the waitlist page from 2 years ago hahah :stuck_out_tongue:

@81Mamba lol nice, wish I had done that

I have a feeling this thread is going to be much larger than last years

What is UID?

Only TAP students will have a UCLA ID # right? from their advisor

This is what I found from the UCLA website.

"Q: Was I considered for my alternate major also?

A: Unfortunately, UCLA only reviews transfer applicants for the first-choice majors. Due to the high volume of applicants each term, we are unable to provide a second review to students once they have been denied for their first majors".

If this is true, why would they change from original to alternate majors for some people?

Twin, they give alternate major consideration to applicants in the TAP program.

Alt major is only available for TAP participants with below conditions

  1. Alt major is non- impacted. Viz if major is impacted, then you won’t be considered for it even if you are TAP certified.
  2. You should have declared alt major in your UC app.

Ok, so, with everyone freaking out, we should list all of the evidence that decisions are coming out tomorrow that we have gathered thus far: I know stuff like that makes me feel better, anyhow. :stuck_out_tongue:

Who hasn’t had their major changed and did TAP? Because that would mean we were accepted under our first choice major, because if we were rejected it would have changed to our alternate major. But this is just a theory.

@LuckyName, I’m TAP-certified and my major hasn’t changed. But I’m not sure it’s an indicator of acceptance, although if we are accepted, it would seem that we’d be accepted under our first choice major.

With only a 4% acceptance rate for my theater major, and candidates auditioning at other major cities, my chances of acceptance is slim to none. I just got accepted this week to UCSB, previously went for one quarter to UCD as a psych major. Also accepted for theater at UCSC and SDSU. I’ve been lurking on this site and it’s been helpful reading that paranoia and anxiety is running rampant in all of us and not just me!!

I am TAP-certified with a 4.0 GPA and my major did not change.
