Fall 2016 Transfer Thread - Cornell University

@2Brown4MyOwnGood yeah! They’re not too impressive haha I had a 3.73 GPA from San Diego State with a 31 ACT. Normal EC’s and an essay I thought showed I was a good fit!

congrats to you guys!!

Congrats!! could you share your stats?

@burnt2the3rd nah dude that’s poppin! Well done again!

@2Brown4MyOwnGood Thank You!

Wow good luck everyone!

@Cp070796 I’m sorry it didn’t work out :(. Don’t forget there is still a long way and I am sure you’ll do great

did anyone login to the decision portal and just getting a black page?..

@fschool I am getting the normal screen and the same message of not finding a pin # yet.

Hi all! I was just accepted to CALS for biology
Here are my stats if you were wondering (I was also GT just a heads up)
College GPA: 4.00 applying from VT
SAT: 1380/1600
EC’s: COINS commodity investment club, ultrarunning club, etc etc.
High school GPA: 4.18 or something close to that, took a ton of AP’s
EC’s: DECA, XC and track, multiple volunteer organizations, science research

I’m currently deciding between UNC chapel hill and Cornell. It’s a pretty tough choice for me because i really like both schools. If anyone has any opinions please let me know!

Wow, congratulations to those accepted~ For those who was denied, wish you good luck in May~

Accepted to CAS!

@tiramisu2 wow amazing ! congrats ! did you receive an email to open the decision website or did you just forget password?

@eespos1 I think you should visit both schools in order to determine which one is better for you. You should also research each programs and determine which one you prefer :).

I have been to Cornell twice because my brother went to school there, I like the town because it is a really quiet (in rural areas), and small town is kind of my taste. But again this is subjective, and I encourage you to visit as well !

I got an email at about 10am saying that the decision was ready!

@tiramisu2 Nice ! what major are you applying to?

If anyone gets a call from Ian, please let us know.

@resonanx Thanks for the comment! I have visited both schools and really enjoyed both of them. I liked the whole collegetown (quite literally and figuratively) feel to both of them. Granted I visited cornell in the middle of the summer and not the winter, but still. I guess it’s just researching programs now.

Great job with all the acceptances!

It does appear that because Cornell is backed up, they are doing the GTs this week and possibly into next week. After that, we should start seeing the actual normal decisions being made on Tuesdays. So maybe this year 4/21 won’t be a rejection day if they are behind so much? (last year the GTs seemed to get the decisions on the week of 4/14 and by this week there were a lot of rejections).

For those of you who got their results back, when did you guys apply? I want to see if Cornell is releasing them in the order they read them or just to people they really want first.
