FALL 2016 UCLA OFFICIAL TRANSFER THREAD

@luckie1367 did you take it during session c after orientation?

Last year…the feeling of getting into UCLA was so great… I wish i could experience it again :((

Can anyone help me please?
Where are my Pre Global Studies majors? I saw like 2 of them…
So I got accepted, even though i didn’t have the mandatory 6 prerequisites. At least that’s the way I see it. And I read that you have to finish all of them by the first semester and then apply to the major by the end of fall semester. From November 15. I’m going to have to figure out which classes I need to do.
When it says through the 4th quarter of a language on assist, what does that mean? Because it also says the 6th quarter will have to be taken at UCLA.
I’m just worried I won’t be able to take like 4-6 classes the first semester haha, but then again they probably wouldn’t have accepted me if that’s the case.
I have the following completed:
Stats 10

2 semesters of transferable beginners Russian classes
1 semester of transferable Spanish class
(Not familiar with the quarter system)

Sociol 1

Econ 2 principles of macroeconomics
I got an A in all of them except for this class, which I got a C.

Admitted

GPA: 4.0
Major: Pre-Political Science
Admitted: UCLA, UCSD, UCI
Applied: UCLA, UCSD, UCI, UCB, Stanford, George Washington University, Columbia, NYU, USC. Yale

Only thing that is a bummer is that i get no financial aid . Better start working on scholarships!
:((

How do you know how much financial aid you have been awarded?

@luckie1367 Thank you so much. Your information is valuable to me! Instead of difficulty, I guess I will need to adapt the quarter system as soon as possible. I am a Statistics major, I hope the statistics department offer enough class for us. Anyways, I’m looking forward to study in UCLA. Go Bruins! Thanks again!

@pereaa For your information

This is the mail I got from UCLA Financial aid and Scholarship.

Dear Student,

Financial Aid and Scholarships received your financial aid application and prepared a Provisional Award Letter (PAL) for you. The PAL estimates your eligibility for financial aid for the upcoming academic year. You may access it on MyUCLA at https://sa.ucla.edu/fao/epalshopping.

Your UCLA Logon ID and password are required to access your PAL. If you have not already done so, please visit MyUCLA at https://my.ucla.edu/ to create your UCLA Logon and password.

Should you have questions regarding your Provisional Award Letter, please contact Financial Aid and Scholarships at (310) 206-0400 or email us at finaid@saonet.ucla.edu.

We hope that you will join us during UCLA Transfer Bruin Day on May 14. For more information about Bruin Day, please go to bruinday.ucla.edu.

@IcedFlavored I did get the email as well. as well and when I look under my awards, they just have the estimated costs…and the grants…is the grants only the one that is award to me? Sorry about asking so many questions.

@pereaa The Total grants and Scholarship is what you get to help you pay the college. They also offer
Federal Direct Subsidized Loans if you are interested. Remember, this is just an estimate, your reward won’t be finalized before you submit SIR.

@IcedFlavored Thank you for your help.

Congrats to everyone who has received their acceptances!! I’m an alumni myself and anxiously awaiting my daughter’s response from UCLA! My question is did any of you receive an email that said your decision was available on the decision site ?

@UCLA522 I got an email after my portal had changed

I got no email. Just checked portal. Is that normal? i was accepted

Were you accepted ?

@giallonotte were you accepted?

I was accepted. Oh sorry I lied I thought I got an email I must be confusing it with the UCSD email. I didn’t get a “your decision is here” email. I did get one this morning about Bruin Day though. Apologizes.

anyone know when we will find out if we got regents

@UCLA522 I didn’t get anything but I just checked the portal yesterday. I did get a UCLA Bruin Day email today though.

@TransferJ Probably end of May, Early June at the latest

If there are no scholarship awards in my PAL awards letter, just grants, does this mean I didn’t get any scholarship awards? Or do they come out later?
