FALL 2016 UCLA OFFICIAL TRANSFER THREAD

@csmajortom Here is some information about volunteer day: http://volunteerday.ucla.edu/
I don’t know how many people are planning on going, but I know that many first year/ transfer students are encouraged to go.
I think I might go because I won’t have much to do (since classes would not have started yet).

@csmajortom I’m not sure how popular volunteer day is but I am planning on going! It will be a good opportunity to meet some new people.

I didn’t know about Bruinwalk until very recently and have discovered that a professor that is assigned to an elective that I’m taking is a nightmare.

I want to drop the class and enroll in another, but have already paid for my tuition via my grants and have received a deposit for my remaining grants.

How can I go about dropping and then adding this class as far as finances go? I’m really desperate to make this change but don’t know how to go about it.

Thanks a ton in advance

@xenoplanet tuition is a flat fee each quarter, so it shouldn’t matter if you drop a course and add another one.

Hello! Can anyone tell me whether our overall GPA or major GPA is looked at more? I’m applying for fall 2017.

@ApricotWolf
If your major is impacted or one of Engineering, it’s safe to say that they will look more into your major GPA.
Of course, you have to be well-rounded and have a good overall GPA.

So…how’s everyone doing? I’m up to my eyeballs in homework in every night. I’m guessing it’s the same for you!
