I was kind of hoping that when you logged in today, there would just be a giant meme like that Grandma looking at her computer screen, and it would just say something like
“Why you checking tho?”

Can someone chance me? It’s an extreme reach, but oh well.

I have a special circumstance though, I found my dad passed away on the couch the day I was supposed to take finals for my freshman year. I got everything sorted out, and I took summer courses and was able to get all A’s, raising my GPA to a 3.7. In my fall of my sophomore year, it hit me HARD and my GPA dropped to a 3.53.
PS: I talked about my dad’s death in detail, and how it changed me. Got it reviewed, and people said they were really good. I would give it a solid 9/10.
Do I even stand a chance? I feel like I’m getting anxious for no reason, if I don’t even have a chance to start with.
Even though its like 100% Wednesday, remember that the freshman decisions in 2015 came out at like 6:30ish
@Hunter097 Stop toying with us! There’s nothing crueler than false hope
@4UCBClay What school do you need the course for? If you need the class for Berkeley I would say stay in it (based on your name it looks like it’s your first choice?), but if you’re just going to just drop it anyway then might as well do it without the W. If you don’t need it for IGETC, units, or prereqs for UCLA then there shouldn’t be an issue. Or as others were saying to just take the W and after you get into UCLA call and make sure it’s okay for you to do that. W’s don’t matter if you have let’s say under 5-10 (10 is a little excessive though), once you start racking them up is the issue.
The second choice, taking the W, is the safer method. But it also would suck once you call and they say it’s ok for you to drop for you to be stuck with a W. Better to be safe than sorry though.
MY LEGS ARE SO NUMB I KNOW DECISIONS AREN’T GOING UP BUT I’M SO STRESSED
@jrohazn Don’t take my word as bond, but historically the GPA cutoff is sometimes as high as 3.80. Keep in mind this is the hearsay of just some fucking guy somewhere, but I’ve heard this to be the case. If you do not get in, an appeal would be a good idea. If they filtered your application out, and it got automatically denied, this is one situation where an appeal might work.
If you’re based in the LA area, this would be an excellent appeal, and you’d be very valid in saying that you have to take care of things in the wake of his death. Sorry for your loss.
Well now I’m kind of wishing everything was like in my country where you can just bribe an admission officer to see your decision earlier than the others lol
i’m not even going to check the portal until i see y’all on here posting results i cannot bring myself to go on just in case they do go up
@chocstraw Really? I thought UCLA had a holistic approach. They can automatically deny applications? Oh man ://
If anything we should check tomorrow, I didn’t see anyone get admitted on the 21th last year in the thread. It was all on the 22nd
@amunroeee if you look on the calendar, the 22nd was on a friday
can april 26 come any faster
omg its 26th its all set they said it no 22nd no 21st smh
IM ON MY BREAK WHATS HAPPENING???
ACCEPTED!
yes, there is ostensibly a cutoff. If you have TAP, this cutoff is sometimes lowered, and your application is given a second review. @jrohazn
You received it?! What’s your major?
so sad
