FALL 2017 UCLA OFFICIAL TRANSFER THREAD

@doihaveashot2016 What class was it for xD

Soc research. Now I’m too tired to go to my 8 AM stats class. What a waste xD @mightyMETA

@doihaveashot2016 Ah, well soc research sounds cool at least. I don’t have morning classes to deal with this semester but I have night classes that end 10pm both tuesday and thursday, which sort of offset my circadian rhythm xd

@jae2017 Teemo is bae <3 especially lil’ devil teemo :3

Hey everyone! Please post whether or not you’re sent the Regents invitation tomorrow so we know that they’ve been sent out. Good luck to everyone! :slight_smile: …And don’t be discouraged if you don’t get it. Hardly any transfers are invited to apply, and then even fewer are actually awarded it. But it is an early indicator that you’ve likely been accepted!

Actually regents and admissions are two different offices and there have been cases (rare but still) of being invited to regents and not getting into the school itself

Oh hey I play league too. Hate teemo though.

@FaithGraceUC Oh yes, I know! That’s why I said usually :slight_smile:

Hey guys so I have a question about the UCLA Profile of admitted transfer students site where we can view the average GPA accepted for each major. When it says 25% and 75% accepted, does that mean 75% of applicants with that GPA (ex. 3.85) are accepted, or does their GPA have to be higher than that? Same goes for the 25%. I’ve always been confused with that lol. Thanks in advance!

@uclahopeful2017 75 percentile means that 25% of applicants had GPAs higher than that.

What was March Madness??? is that a basketball thing? :o

@champagnemami @uclahopeful2017 **accepted applicants.

@champagnemami so same goes for the 25% percentile? If the 25% was 3.50 for example, that would mean 25% of applicants had a GPA lower than that?

@uclahopeful2017 No, 25% of ACCEPTED applicants had a lower GPA, unless the publisher of the range states that it is based on all applicants, which honestly wouldn’t be helpful. If you’re referring to the UC website, then it’s based on accepted applicants. And it follows that 75% of accepted applicants have a higher GPA than that.

As long as you’re within the 25-75 range, you have a great chance, but I think that your chance probably increases as you get closer to the 75th+ range

@lexluther96 I’m aware that those statistics are in regards to ACCEPTED applicants, in which I indicated on my first post when asking the questions. Of course that’d be rather unhelpful if it was referring to all applicants. Thanks for replying though!

@uclahopeful2017 I just wanted to make sure loll. Some websites (like niche) give you stats based on all applicants, so it can get kind of sketchy and unreliable. Good luck!

did anyone in here apply as an econ or bus econ major?

Wait guys…I took a pre req class for my major and it just ended. How can I update my grade so they can check before making their final decision ?? Or do they ask for it later ? Please let me know.

@morocco123 I don’t think you can update any grades anymore because the TAU window closed on March. Was the pre req class for spring? If so, they wouldn’t be able to check anyway since their main concern were the fall grades.

@josh2633 Bus econ here. But don’t really want to go here its my backup for Haas. Did you apply bus econ or econ?
