Guys!!! Help!!
I did not expect to get into UCLA today for Business Econ! I was set on UCI for Bus Admin but now I don’t know what to do. I would have to get loans of 11K every year and move away from Orange County. For UCI I got regents and most likely will get tuition covered and a decent cal grant(low-income student). I would most likely live at home since I’m 30 mins away from UCI. I don’t want to be stuck with loans since my parents will need my help after I graduate. But i also don’t want to miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to attend UCLA. Does the school you receive your undergraduate degree from really impact your job opportunites? I want to make a decision as soon as possible so people can have an opportunity to get off the waitlist.

Got into my alternate major, Social Policy and Public Service, with a 3.18 freshman GPA (up to 3.38 after last semester though). Thinking about switching to Political Science or Business Economics though. I’m super excited!

@shch7898 @lovetoast05 actually, there is a fee to SIR ($250) which will go towards your fall quarter’s fees - an exception to the SIR deposit of 250 can be waived if you had a uc application waiver - hope this helps!
@Rosemarila yup you have enough quarter units (135+) to be considered a senior
Its crazy how competitive CS has gotten, i have so many friends who got straight up denied with 3.9 at UCLA for that major.
Also does anyone know how complicated it would be to switch majors within a department? like should i do it now or after i get in, i wanna go from CS to CSE
@sr32002 first of all CONGRATS!! UCLA is no joke. Think about business admin (uci) vs. business economics (ucla). Do you like economics? Is general business more of your thing? What do you want as your emphasis? UCLA is amazing and 11k is not much compared to what others have to pay! UCI is basically a full ride for you and that’s so awesome; also an amazing school.
I’m in a very similar position. I can’t tell you where to go… that’s obviously up to you but you clearly can’t go wrong; hope I gave you some things to think about. Good luck and don’t forget to let us know where you choose to go

I received my acceptance to my alternate Business Economics, but I really wanted Business Admin… can someone tell me how hard is it to switch to Business Admin?
