Family reunion ideas

Or get takeout for some of the dinners.

What about something like the Homestead in Va or the Greenbrier in WV. Or the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island in Michigan?

I know the Grand Hotel is pricey but includes breakfast and dinner.

I have mentioned this a few times on CC (I probably should get paid by them at some point), I think Club Med is a great venue for large group. It is like a cruse ship, but doesn’t move. I have been to many all-inclusive, many a lot more upscales than Club Med, but CM has more activities (free) than any other all-inclusive. They have things to do for all ages. I like to do nothing and I find it very entertaining to sit by a pool or beach. Dining is very casual, people could come and go as they please. One of the biggest challenges with a large group is dining reservations.

Our kids are young adults with jobs now, so it is hard for them to take a whole week off sometimes. We tend to find a place where people could come for few days if they want, so we are staying away from long distance trips now. Next year we are going to Seabrook Island in SC. My sister owns a condo there. We are going to rent additional houses/condos to accommodate 15+ people.

Club Med has a location in FL. It is easy for people to get to. You may want to take a look.

Way back in the day our extended family went to Calloway Gardens in Georgia (near Atlanta). Stuff for everyone to do, variety of options from lodge to cabins to villas. I remember it being a whole lot of fun with water sports, horseback,
golf, circus camp (FSU trapeze camp) and lots of dining options.

@oldfort - We are only worried about the oldest having issues attending. He is hoping for an REU. We hope that by scheduling it the week of July 4 he will be able to join us. Of course July 4 is a Wednesday next year. 3 kids are too young for jobs and the other one has a great boss. That is also why we are considering Christmas.

@scmom12 - we used to go to Calloway Gardens every summer growing up. It is on the list.

Thanks!
