I always like to give my SIL as an example. She majored in English. The jobs I can remember: Children’s librarian, school bus driver, reporter in a local paper, nursery school teacher, and has final landed on being a town planner a job she loves.
Another good friend who was an English major at about the same time at the same school, played early music, wrote children’s and young adult fantasy, sold flowers from her garden, helped make and test recorders and was an Episcopalian priest.

I think the child actors who went to college and then returned to acting are interesting. They got to major in what they really wanted to knowing they didn’t need to work in the field.

Fun fact - Foster has done the French dubbing for many of her movies, including Taxi Driver and Silence of the Lambs. Last year, she starred in her first French movie as the lead - Vie Privée

Oh they could use their majors, just had no restrictions of HAVING to use them to earn a living. Learning for the love of it.
