Fast Food lunch/dinner

I’ve never heard of either. Where are they?

Zuppardi’s is in West Haven, CT

Di Fara is in Brooklyn

Tripadvisor herd says both are great.

Both are available shipped via Goldbelly.

I’ve used them to try the J Trinity of Philly steaks:

John’s Roast Pork
Joe’s
Jim’s

And those have all been delicious. Having had three iconic steaks, i want to try some pizza. I had a lot of great pizza in Chicago and Quad City-style is pretty good too, but i haven’t had much from NY, and none from the Yale neighborhood. These are supposed to be good examples of both styles.

Enjoy!

Unless it’s something like BBQ that can reheat easily we’ve never been fond of shipped food ourselves.

The Philly steaks were pretty good, especially Joe’s wiz, wit, because they gave you two big containers of wiz – you could spoon on as much as you wanted.

It isn’t easy replacing the fat from an off-the-grill fresh sandwich. if a sandwich was a bit dry, we added a little bit of butter or mayo. All needed salt and pepper except for John’s – John’s meat was the best seasoned, imo.

I used Goldbelly for Emmy Squared in Brooklyn. It’s excellent Detroit style pizza. It was good from Goldbelly but not as good as being at Emmy Squared.

Texan here as well. Only fast food I ever do is a Whataburger- double meat, double cheese, no fries and just a water.

I read an article online about 53 companies in danger of closing permanently and many were those mentioned in this thread.

Not positive how accurate the article was and am sure there are others out there. Covid has been tough on buffets and many restaurants.

If the article is accurate, I’m wondering what will replace the chains that may go out of business? Small places that are non-chain?

We’re seeing more chains opening stores here. Some are smaller, local chains (Bird Call, Raising Cane’s) but they are growing fast. What I’ve noticed is how expensive they are.

One of my favorite pizza places closed permanently. We really liked one of the waitresses and hope she’d doing okay.

I have not tried it, but I read that DiFara opened an outpost in my neck of the woods in Cary NC. So many NY-ers and NJ-ers have moved down here over the years the nickname for Cary used to be Containment Area for Relocated Yankees. https://www.difarapizzatavern.com/
