<p>Courer has it almost right with a few corrections about UCR:</p>
<p>1) Smog is only an issue in the summer (well, through end of September). Rest of the
year air quality is good, smog stays in LA where it belongs. Air quality has improved dramatically over the past 10 years. Biggest flaw is that campus admits too many students unprepared for college work. Fractional percentage pull themselves through, but others wallow in misery and drag down stats.</p>
<p>2) Med school won’t be opening until money grows on trees.</p>
