This made me giggle as it brought back memories of S23’s first grade teacher chasing me down in the hallway to tell me that she had given the class an assignment to write persuasive essays. The expectation was 2-3 sentences of a persuasive essay addressed to their parents. Most kids did something along the line of “Why I Should Get A Puppy”. The teacher read some of the past essays to the class. My son brought in Green Eggs and Ham the next day and told her she should read it to the class as it was a much better example of a persuasive essay.
