Preparation:
Saute the onion in olive oil until soft, about 3 to 5 minutes. While the onions were cooking I microwaved the garbanzos in their juice for a couple of minutes to soften them.

Add remaining ingredients and stir to combine well. Cover, and allow to cook for at least 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through.

I was at a party last night where one of the items was the most delicious meatballs. Turned out it was the chili sauce - grape jelly recipe mentioned in this thread! Who would have thought! I’m about to start another thread with one of the other treats from this party.

Also, despite the sage advice I received here about not trying it, I’m experimenting with the brisket recipe in my crock pot today. My butcher told me he thought it would work as long as I “added a tablespoon of chopped garlic”, which I did. :^)

SorryChiSquare…I didn’t look back here for a few days. I buy precooked meatballs. They seem to have been browned already. The ones I buy are Mama Lucca’s, I think and they are called Homestyle…not Italian. But I have also made them with the turkey meatballs from Trader Joes.

Glad you got to try them already, without having to do any work!

No I have not but I intend to try some. This was the first one that I tried. I really liked this one (just loved the flavor). It is about the max. amount of effort that I usually want to put into weekday meals.

Does anybody have a recipe for broccoli and cavatelli…the NEW YORK ITALIAN STYLE(COLD)…lots of garlic and oil, but I can’t tell what else needs to be in it.

Love this thread. We (H & I but he is the cook. I am the recipe finder) have tried a few recipes, liked them and will use them again.

Our next try is the Vegetarian Curried Indian Chickpeas. It sounds good.

Our diet is very low saturated fat. We both love beef, etc. but can not eat a lot (high chol). We also have a veg D. Some of your veg. recipes have been tasty!
