I love Green Card. One of my guilty pleasures is What a Girl Wants.
This is Spinal Tap
Father of the Bride
Another vote for You’ve Got Mail. I even watched “The Shop Around the Corner” with Jimmy Stewart and enjoyed it. Also loved Pride and Prejudice TV serial with Colin Firth. I’m such a romantic.
So some of my favorites are already here… Father of the Bride, the first and the second. You’ve Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle, The Parent Trap with Lindsay Lohan and now I have forgotten the name but it is the movie with George Clooney and Michelle Pfeiffer and the two cute kids, the same boy from Sleepless in Seattle. Sex and the City, the first movie, Notting Hill, Titanic, Four Weddings and a Funeral and more of a tearjerker, Stepmom with Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon and the two all-time feel good movies, The Sound of Music and The Wizard of Oz.
War Games. Let’s play global thermonuclear war.
I busted out our DVD of “Working Girl” last night. Ah, the 80’s!
The Holiday (Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet and Jude Law)
Pillow Talk (Doris Day and Rock Hudson)
I don’t think you people know what “guilty pleasure” means.
Watch while eatng a pint of your favorite ice cream - that is truly my guilty pleasure.
Last night I watched My Cousin Vinny. The grits cross-examination scene is one of my favorites ever.
Also: Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Finishing watching Coming to America right now.
Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.
“Guilty pleasure” because, c’mon, I’m a feminist. Marilyn Monroe?!?
Actually anything with Marilyn Monroe. But that one’s the best. All together now: “Time goes on / and youth is gone / and you can’t straighten up when you bend …”
Also True Grit. 1969 version. What a year. Woodstock and John Wayne, Best Actor, YES!
Plus The Princess Bride, but that’s not really a guilty pleasure, because everyone’s got to love it, right?
I think guilty pleasure is something like Debbie Does Dallas or whatever the female version is of Debbie Does Dallas.
A Doris Day movie is a guilty pleasure? A Jimmy Stewart movie is a guilty pleasure? A Tom Hanks movie is a guilty pleasure?
The things some of you are guilty about. I think some of you need to talk to a therapist.
I did work with a guy in a respected business. Prior to this, he starred in a porno flick. I watched the movie. I did not tell him. I felt guilty.
Ok…back to the g and pg rated movies that make viewers feel guilty.
The Big Chill.
A definite fav
I interpreted guilty pleasure as those movies that are not particularly intellectually challenging, but are like visiting a comfortable familiar friend & can be watched over & over. But now that you mention it, why should I feel guilty about that?
I have no idea.
@dsatrk you make me laugh. WTH? You watched your colleague in a porn flick? That’s hilarious.
I had the same thought you did when I read the thread title - but go back and look at the original post - the OP defined what s/he meant by mentioning the first 2 titles in the OP.
Legally Blonde.
@HarvestMoon1, Yes. I watched a colleague dressed up in Saran Wrap and …
Doesn’t Risky Business have a nude scene or two? Prostitutes? An underwear scene?
Ok. No Saran Wrap. That’s true.
