Favorite khakis that dont need ironing?

My son has to wear khakis for work (retail.) Duluth Trading slim (or is it trim?) seem to be the best. They have a crotch gusset which makes them comfortable and ironing? Hahaha what’s that?

OP asked for khaki recommendations. Let’s accept this at face value, assume that OP knows her kids, and stop arguing that no colllege student would wear khakis.

Any other recommendations of khakis that don’t wrinkle?

Dockers come in a huge variety of sizes. The other place where we had good luck with khaki style slacks was the Gap.

My son goes to Brown, and in cold weather, he wears either sweats or khakis - doesn’t own a pair of jeans. Loves the Birddog shorts in warm weather.

@abasket The schools where my son applied they do. My boys really don’t wear jeans and athletic pants are almost impossible for me to find with a 34 inch inseam or longer that come in a medium waist. Any suggestions on those also welcome!

@ucbalumnus you are right. We visited UVA in the spring and every male we passed was wearing khaki shorts or khaki pants with a t shirt. It was the same when I was there. Saw almost no one in athletic shorts unless they were running . . .

@BSL1199 Exactly! And I am looking for everyday khakis  Not just a midwest thing but also a southern thing!

LOL - DD is not a shopper, so when she was in high school I used to buy khakis at the local thrift shops / Goodwill for a few dollars each. If she liked them, great. If not, I kept them for myself or donated them back.

^^^I once saw an interview with Jim Harbaugh’s (U Mich football coach) wife. She is so embarrassed that his favorite pants are pleated khakis from Kmart…he buys a bunch every year, wears them everyday, and to every game. Sportscasters regularly make fun of said pants. I would not recommend them to OP, they always look wrinkly!

Apparently Jim Harbaugh has traded his trademark Walmart khakis for lululemon http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/18993039/michigan-wolverines-jim-harbaugh-dumps-khakis-more-fashionable-form-go-garb

I thought that Michigan football signed a Nike deal and that they even make khakis for coach through the Michael Jordan jumpman brand but I didn’t find that with a very fast google search.

OP, if you are looking for something low cost, my S has been wearing these pants from Target lately.

He has several pairs in different colors and they look very sharp. They don’t seem to be marketed as no iron but I can tell you with certainty that my S is not ironing his pants and they have passed muster with me who is the queen of ironing. They are inexpensive enough that you could try out a pair and not have lost much if they aren’t to your S’s liking.

@cellomom2 perfect! Out of stock in his size but will keep checking. I am the queen of ironing too???

Levi’s makes several of their jeans in khaki color. They look surprisingly like chinos/khakis vs jeans and they are truly wash and wear. My son has the 511s.

50 - nice pants, but even in that ad they are wrinkled as heck! :)

^ I get what you’re saying from the ad picture but I got the impression the OP wasn’t looking for corporate attire, crisply ironed and creased pants but look decent for a college student who needs to look nice. My S is a professional working musician so not in an office environment, wears these all the time and always looks nice. Whenever I have seen him wearing them he looks sharp. As I said, I like to iron and I never feel like I need to wrestle his pants away from him before I can let him leave the house

@cellomom2 exactly. My kid is not one to walk around with a pencil protector so slightly rumpled is ok and actually; preferable to the no iron poly look. He thinks khakis are more comfortable than jeans. I run a quick iron over them here (I have 3 boys so it takes a minute!). Would like to find something that is fine out of the dryer. Not perfect is ok

My son has the same Target chinos and loves them. They are perfect for a college student- he takes them out of the dryer and hangs them immediately and they look nice. They have a little stretch which makes them very comfortable according to him.
