KitchenAid 42" “built-in” counter depth refridge. Actually the second one. Had one for 20+ years and replaced it last year with another. It is side by side and not french doors though. But I love it.

Oven is a double Thermador. The top is a combination oven/convection/microwave–full size (it looks identical on the outside to the lower over) and I do not know if they make those anymore. I don’t use both ovens that often, but when cooking a family get-together dinner I love having them both. I am on the second one. First one original to the house in 1978 and replaced with a second one after 20 ish years. No problems ever.

I have a Jenn-Air grill/cooktop --on my third one in two houses over 28 years. This one has interchangeable units. I have three slots, and currently have one a grill, one a griddle, and one a double burner. I can pull out a module and replace with another. I have a second double burner module underneath in the cupboard. I am not crazy about this one in the way the modules come together. There are spaces where stuff collects and you have to work to keep it clean. But I enjoy cooking on it. The grill is not like an outdoor gas grill, but it makes cooking very versatile. I do have a gas grill on the patio for barbecue’s.

Dishwasher is KitchenAid. I have had KitchenAids and Whirlpools. We go through dishwashers every 6-7 years. Hard water is hard on them.

I always look at the [Appliances, Home and Kitchen Appliances | ajmadison.com](http://www.ajmadison.com) website to get an idea of pricing and detailed specs. If you are doing a water in the door fridge make sure you allow a few extra inches for the copper coil.

We have a Bosch DW and I love it. Most European DW’s do not feed through the garbage disposal.

I thought I wanted a French Door fridge until I stayed with my sister for 2 weeks while she recovered from a C section. She has a brand new one.
I like to cook and spend more time than many in the kitchen. The freezer below is very awkward. Although sometimes you need to stack items in a side by side or freezer over fridge, stacking things in this freezer necessitated rearranging everything just for a quick perusal because it was all below eye level. The ice was cumbersome and it was constantly overflowing to the inaccessible bottom of the freezer compartment. Give me a side by side any day!
Now having said all that, my sister is not a cook, uses the freezer to store frozen pizza and the fridge to hold milk, yogurt and ketchup. She loves this appliance and thinks it is the best invention since canned pasta!

I would never build in a microwave. They break. They’re disposable, so no one fixes them.

I like my Bosch dishwasher. It did break once, but I found the symptom online and fixed it - required soldering a connector that broke.

I don’t like the Bosch stovetop, but you seem to be getting a range. It’s hard to keep clean and the burner lighter design could be better. I hated my Bosch oven and it broke and Bosch said they wouldn’t make parts for it so they sold us a new oven for half price. I love that oven.

My point: you can have mixed luck with most any brand.

I’d make sure you know your brand can be serviced and ideally by more than one person / company in your area.
