The first thought I had when I saw Fearless Girl standing in front of the bull was “Is she trying to (metaphorically) stop the bull market?”
You know that the artist who dropped the bull there didn’t ask permission? He’s just pissy that he’s not getting enough attention…
Actually the artist originally put it in front of the NY stock exchange right near their Christmas tree as a gift. It was removed and impounded by the police. Then it found it’s way to its present location – only about 3 blocks away – in Bowling Green Park.
Fearless girl is back in the news.
Apparently State Street, the company that promoted the fearless girl image that women can do anything that men can do, settled a suit that it systematically underpaid female executives relative to men.
For those of us in the financial industry that know State Street well, this hypocrisy comes as no surprise.
You can’t make this stuff up!
A symbolic gesture doesn’t make up for their years of practice??? Who knew.
“For those of us in the financial industry that know State Street well, this hypocrisy comes as no surprise.”
Nor would it be a surprise from most companies in the financial service industry.
