***February 8 2014 Official ACT Answers Thread***

If you ignored the typo there was still a grammatical mistake.

for the daffodil one i put keep it because it was talking about specific scents flowers have

For the typo, I just acted as if the author were using some sort of rhetoric such as climax to show how important the gardening was…lol. It seemed to work out for me.

The question I asked about had a singular subject (one), but the correct very tense was plural.

i believe the correct answer was had enabled the other options were enabling, enables, and something else with a plural tense

Yes I think that’s the same question. I didn’t pick a past tense answer because the entire paragraph was in present tense. Wouldn’t past tense imply that the bird no longer did those dives into the water? Which would imply that the bird no longer existed?

i dont remember the specifically remember the wording but i thought it was the best choice because i dont think because it started with one that it could be plural

Reading

What was the answer to the first passage about the main passage? story of 2 sisters and how they brought out best of each other or the one about joanna in relation 2 her fam and neighborhood

I put the one about her in relation to her family and neighborhood.

Yes, I picked the one that was in correct tense but plural instead of singular. Does anyone remember the specific wording of that question?

this act was the easiest i have taken by far. i was just in the zone like a baus and answerin questions like bill nye.
i was only unsure about 1 question on math (the tangent 1), 2 questions in english and reading, and 2-3 in science.
hoping 4 a 34/35.

same smthh

what about the one about the purpose of the 2nd paragraph in the 1st passage. i put set up a contradiction, but
that answer choice seemed really cheesy (just thought it was the best). I didn’t know what temperament meant, which is what i think the answer was.

also anyone know the answer to the circle with a tangent line and they asked u 2 find the angle of an angle outside the circle. Was really confused, so just went off my gut and put 60 (complete guess). if 60 was right i would literally go super saiyan and thank base god

I am 100% sure the pentagon question was 75

has to be 75

540/5

set up isosceles triangle with 540/5 as 1 angle and the other two angles as x

180-x for the angle

also last 1 was def the last 1

i didn’t know how 2 do it so, just plugged in the answer choices

Arrghhh, for the math problem with the < 200, I thought that the numbers were increasing by 7… Facepalm.

Next, I did the c^2 = a^2 +b^2 - 24cosx problem, and messed up because I put c^2<a^2+b^2 instead="" of="" c^2=""> a^2+b^2… Fudgecakes. </a^2+b^2>

I got the circles-pi question wrong too since I put 2 pi. Hopefully I only got a maximum of 5 wrong on Math. Darn, so many careless errors.

Btw, what about the “Which light will be deflected?” question? I put Blue.

@WasteofUsername - I put temperament for the answer as well. And I believe I put 60 for the question you’re talking about as well.

cool man

also does the glitch 2 see scores early still work because it didn’t work for october?

@WasteOfUsername I also put to set up a contradiction

smthh i think temperament and contradiction were answer choices 4 the same question. i didn’t put temperament for the question i think you are referring to, but i am pretty sure you are right.

Does anybody remember the question about the birds like it asked what statement would completely make this bird distinct from other birds. I put it had a different gland than other birds. It was either that or it was no change ( it’s gland was 10 times larger than other birds glands)

put no change
