<p>Some might say that American was a safety for my son, but DC is where he wants to be. He is likely – highly likely, 99 percent likely – to attend. He also applied to GW, but I hear their merit scholarships are much smaller. </p>
<p>Anyway, my son also applied to Redlands in California – much more of a safety than American – and received less scholarship money there. What I am trying to say is that just because it’s a safety does not mean scholarship dollars.</p>
