i was awarded full tuition. reggie lewis scholarship. :)

Congrats, TGSwimFly. That’s awesome. Are you planning on attending?

i’m not sure, i have to hear from some other schools. i live in so. NH so i know a lot of people there. usually at least two or three go each year from our school and i’ve spent tons of weekends down there visiting so i have a good feel for the campus/city/etc.

let you know once i figure it out!

and thanks for the congrats

TGSwimfly,
Congrats on the full tuition at NEU. Where in So. NH are you from?

BU awarded me 40 g, NEU offered 27…really, Northeastern isn’t making my decision difficult.

BU is also more expensive than NEU

By what, $3k per year?

I applied to both and got the same exact award from each.

I was responding to Mjm1 who got 13k less from NEU than BU, which is made up by the difference in cost … unless those numbers are per year??? If so, that is a great offer, BU isn’t usually that generous.

My daughter just got accepted to BU.
Not sure yet , but it looks like they are the first of her schools to not offer anything to her in merit , grant or aid.
All we can see from her email link is a request for non-custodial forms.
Funny they never requested them from the beginning.
We’ll see what follows in the mail, but she is sticking with Northeastern as it is her first choice.

It seems like BU was very generous with a lot of the posters there, but then left some high and dry.

BU actually gives a lot more financial aid than NEU. BU covers 88% while NEU covers 67% of need. Also, the average package for BU is $28,000. For NEU it is only $19,000. All of these are official statistics from CollegeBoard.

I have read all of these posts, and I’m going to have to say that I agree with aBeautifulMind on most things. Why shouldn’t he be disappointed? If one college offers you a lot more money on the same stats than the other and this is the school you really wanted to go to, well then that’s very disappointing. I admire how he stands up for himself and presents good arguments. If a person wants to just lay down and take it, so be it, but is he wants to stand up for himself I say go for it. On a different note, hey if you’re not going to use the 28k, could you send it this way? Thanks.

I’m very happy with my 12,000 a year grant from NU…stafford loan and work study.I would’ve liked more…but it could’ve been worse…I knew I was gonna have to work myself through college…and my mom ( a single parent) is planning on getting another job…At least I’ve got outside scholarships.
