Merit-based Scholarships

Emory offers merit-based aid through the Emory Scholars or Goizueta Scholars programs. To be considered for an academic scholarship, students must be nominated by an appropriate high school official, normally the college counselor. The nomination form, scholar essay, scholar recommendation and all admission application materials must be submitted by November 1 of the student’s senior year. Though the submission deadline is in November, the application is not a binding, Early Decision application. Selection of merit scholars is extremely competitive; Emory typically receives more than 2,500 nominations and awards approximately 150 scholarships. The awards range from $10,000/year to the full cost of tuition, room, board and fees.

In addition to merit-based scholarships above, we also offer merit awards through the Alben W. Barkley (Debate) Scholarship and music scholarships.

Need-based Aid

Unfortunately, only U.S. citizens and qualified noncitizens such as permanent residents can receive federal and institutional need-based financial aid from Emory.

International students are required to submit a financial verification form in the admission process.
