Financial Aid Phone Interview

You may have misunderstood the call. It was likely from a scholarship panel, not financial aid. Alumni scholarships, Town and Gown, the Topping student aid fund - are some of the scholarships that may interview applicants (and there are more). There is no interview for financial aid unless they have questions about your financial situation.

The reason they “consider” applicants for financial aid is because the applicants submitted a FAFSA and a CSS/Profile. Applicants who do not submit those forms do not receive need-based aid.

There is no interview for financial aid, and “stats” are not considered. The information on the FAFSA and CSS/Profile are evaluated and a package is put together based on an accepted student’s USC-determined need. A panel is not involved.
