When my high school counselor met with the top 10% of our class, she explained that financial need meant that as long we demonstrated at least $1 of need on the FAFSA we would qualify for the State Top Ten Percent Scholarship. Here’s the hitch – it is distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until all of the reserved funds are depleted. So it seems that the FAFSA submission and college acceptance dates are factors in receiving the scholarship. Every bit of financial aid helps. Good luck!
