Financial need for Buick Achievers Scholarship

How much is financial need considered for the Buick Achievers Scholarship? Is it even worth applying if my EFC is ~50k?

hmm. i am in a similar situation as well in terms of financial background. any help?

Can you apply for the $1000 scholarship only?

I am also encountering this problem, I don’t have a financial need according to the FAFSA, but I applied today anyway. hopefully I can at least get one of the $2,000 awards.

Does anyone know if you need a financial need for this

Can we still win it if we leave the unusual circumstances essay blank.?

brumal- I’m in the same boat. I received nothing from FAFSA. My parents do not make excessive amounts of money, but apparently they make enough to send me to college. I have no idea whether or not the financial aid section will make or break your application, but I would figure it is used in case two students were similar in their stats and they could not decide which one should get the scholarship.

DCruz95- I’m sure Buick will not disqualify you because you do not have any unusual circumstances. That would be ridiculous!

My D definitely doesn’t fall into the financial category with family income according to FASFA, but with two daughters in college, it would certainly help. So we are hoping for at least the $2000 award.

I applied today and my EFC is almost 50k on FAFSA. hopefully they don’t disqualify ppl just because they do not meet financial needs, that would be ridiculous.

I don’t think so
