<p>If you’re dorming on campus, people generally don’t use online sites or any method really to find roommates, haha. That’s left for apartments, obviously since you need to find compatible people who will split the cost with you, but for dorms you either generally have a friend you’d like to room with, or you get a random roommate. I mean, if you’re lucky maybe you can somehow find a stranger who’s also dorming and is like totally compatible with you, but chances are slim. Randomized roommies are not a bad thing at all. It’s part of the experience, but if you’re worried just remember you can also request a room change if you really don’t want to live with your roommate anymore.</p>
<p>I can’t really say, but based on my opinion I don’t think having a roommate in mind or not having one in mind will affect your room very much. I heard it’s a randomized process and if you’re lucky you’ll get what you want, with respect to what’s available.</p>
