<p>Don’t feel as though you need to account for all your time by reporting hours in the EC section. “Working out 4 hrs/wk” is not necessarily going to enhance your college application. </p>
<p>Choose ECs that show how you have developed as a person or as a leader, how you have participated or excelled, and especially how you might get involved with others on a college campus when you go to school there. Also, choose ECs that will catch the attention of an admissions counselor and make that person want to meet you. But, think long and hard before you choose ECs that don’t fit one of these categories. You don’t want to clutter up your application and make it harder for the reader to focus on your important activities and skills.</p>
