Unfortunately, the money tends to favor those students who are National Merit or top 10.
Outside scholarships don’t give much and they don’t supply you with needed dollars for four years of school.
As @Thumper1 said, the best scholarships come from the colleges themselves and they fund you for 4 years, IF they want you.
Your instate public universities have already been funded by your parents.
No one cares where you get your diploma. Once you are done, you can become employed in whatever state you want.
I’m from California, and we like to have students like you because:
1). We don’t give you a dime.
2). We triple your price of tuition/fees.
3). Those fees you pay will help fund another California resident student.
It’s called a “cash cow”.
