My adult D lives in Portland - she’s choking. Can’t get anywhere. Walked 2 blocks to the grocery store and back, had to shower and wash her clothes immediately they stunk so badly. Text this morning shows AQI is 518 - that is the worst I’ve ever seen. She’s coming to So Cal but not until the 25th. Can’t get out sooner. I’m scared for her, as well as others. I’m grateful she has no underlying health issues. I seriously can’t fathom how some are coping.
I am also in The OC, hazy but I am still able to play tennis, etc… Son in SF is pretty miserable.
Very, very scary, especially for folks with lung conditions—heck we have trouble breathing even if air quality is excellent!
To all of you affected, I just don’t have the right words for how I feel about the fires. I’ll throw out heartbreaking, awful, sad, horrible, tragic, mind blowing, unimaginable. I am so sad for the western states experiencing these fires and praying for rain and/or containment. I see the pics of what it’s like in the day time and it’s just unreal. People with respiratory issues must be ill as can be. Just a disaster in so many and far reaching ways.
