Haven’t seen any today… fingers crossed. :)

The fleas running to her head is good! It means they find whatever you washed her with obnoxious & they realize you did not put it in her eyes & ears.

It’s good because they are running to where you can find them way more easily than in that Yorkie hair.

Has anyone mentioned diatomaceous earth? It’s nontoxic (in fact, it can be used in food), a white powder that gets in the fleas’ spiracles and blocks their ability to breathe. I sprinkle it in bedding, carpets, on the lawn, and rub it into the dogs’ hair before a bath. My dogs are adults and considerably larger, though, so I’d check with a vet before using it on a small puppy.

I will point out that it’s a dust–and you’ll need to do a lot of vacuuming.

^^^
where do you get that?

<edited> due to possible incorrect info</edited>

I’ve been in a long battle with them. My poor old dog is being euthanized tomorrow but

KKmama…I hope you’re doing ok.

{{{ hugs }}}

Maybe tea tree oil? Try asking your vet about that as well. It does have a scent but kills live and should also kill fleas. Be sure to consult with vet as it may be too strong to apply to such a small animal.

Weird! I just got an email at 4:05 this morning from Safer advertising a 25% off sale on diatomaceous earth. I have ordered Pantry Pest kits from them, so of course, I am now on an email list.

HI mom…

I know from prior instances that you can’t use Tea Tree oil on pets…too toxic for them if they lick it.

We’re going to the vet again today for another round of shots.

We’re still working on housetraining! She knows where to pee, it’s pooping that we’re still working on. She wants to go on the tile (thankfully it’s tile! and her poops are teeny tiny.)

The diatomaceous earth works really well, as long as you have it on every surface that the fleas land on. It also works well for stink bugs and bed bugs (went to a nice resort in September and came home with bedbugs - I sprinkled the earth all around the top edges of my mattress and seem to have gotten them all).

As for potty training: try placing a piece of flooring by her wee pad. She may prefer the hard surface. You can buy end rolls of vinyl flooring at Home Depot or Lowes.

Yes - borax (or diatomaceous earth) - works like a charm, lasts months, non toxic. I only have cats - and they don’t go outdoors. Last time we got fleas I treated the house and they have not come back. It’s been years.

Google flea borax - there’s a bunch of brands. You spread it over your carpet - work it in with a clean (new) push broom and leave it. Any flea that jumps off your doggie dies. Flea eggs and larva that live in the carpet die.

It works way, way, way better than a flea bomb. Those things are a complete waste of time and money.

Googled Borax for fleas and it looks like I can use the standard boxed Borax found in the laundry aisle (which I already have at home).
Good! Will be Boraxing later today!!!

Went to the vet today again.

Chloe was given a diluted Advantage II on the neck (vet has some formula calculation to dilute per her weight (now 2 lbs!).

Before, vet had me bathe her in blue Dawn, but forgot to mention to lather her head FIRST before setting her into the water so that when the fleas run to her head…they’ll run smack dab into the sudsy bubbles. lol Makes sense!!!

Hopefully, now we’re good. Just a few more puppy visits…and then the dreaded getting fixed.

Thanks everyone for all the good advice!!!

KKmama…I hope you’re doing ok. Thinking of you.
