I got ignored sitting in first class on an international flight. Apparently it was the pilots final flight and they just oo’d and ah’d and coddled the family members in first class and literally flat out ignored the rest of us. I should’ve complained but I didn’t
“A person is disheveled hallucinating and delusional and is hanging around the boarding gate area for any length of time, it’s most likely some passenger will bring this to the attention of an employee”
I would hope so. Nowadays, it’s really important for passengers to notice things, though people might be afraid to bring things up. If somebody noticed this, they should definitely tell an employee, who should call security and let them deal with it. What annoys me is people who manage to look sober enough to get onboard, even though they are totally drunk.

That’s really aggravating. International first class is very expensive, for what you pay, you should get a full body massage, a manicure, and perfect service (though the flight attendants might not like doing all that)!

That could be me after some of the layover experiences I’ve had…
Really???
It definitely happens, even to people who belong to the “model minority.” I just started a new thread on this.
An Open Letter to the Woman Who Told My Family to Go Back to China
After a racist attack on his family on the streets of the Upper East Side, a New York Times editor wonders whether Asian-Americans will ever feel like they belong.

All joking aside, if a person (not you guys making light) is really, really disheveled, delusional and hallucinating, verbalizing bizarre mentation or odd beliefs , talking to themselves (not wearing a phone headset!) etc, this would likely be noticed by someone, and in this day and age of heightened safety and security for both the passenger in question and others, lets hope his/her status would be assessed.
This happened the other day on a flight out of Albany.

SMH.
So who is the dude in the black panther hat? Does not appear to be Amanda Stevens who apparently had worn a concerning shirt previously (that she was apparently wearing again) and she handled it by turning it inside out for the flight. Not sure about the hat.Why is it a big deal to take the hat off if it bothers the pilot. She apparently got booted because she got into a verbal disagreement with the flight attendant.
- I haven't read all the posts but the thread caught my eye because this happened in Houston yesterday:
http://www.click2houston.com/news/nurse-impersonator-roams-freely-at-memorial-hermann-hospital
Somewhat ironic that both the doctor and the nurse-impersonator are both in Houston.
No, that is Amanda.
Why should she have to do either?
Is there some dress code to be able to fly that I am unaware of?
@busdriver11 Were you nonrev when you were flying first and being ignored?
“busdriver11 Were you nonrev when you were flying first and being ignored?”
No. I haven’t done the nonrev thing in years, I jumpseat if I have to. And actually, when they know you are an employee, they are particularly nice to you. I generally have a paid for, first class ticket, not even upgraded. My company gets a really good discount for many airlines.

I think the truth must be somewhere in between. It was initially a night terror and has now morphed into a headline of “Plane crew almost lets a man die.” Airlines contract with organizations to provide emergency medical support from the ground. So the idea that he didn’t receive care seems over the top.
I was on a flight with a medical emergency and passengers around me continued to request beverage service from the attendants oblivious to the fact that the emergency was being dealt with in the galley.
If that is Amanda, she needs a shave.
“So who is the dude in the black panther hat? Does not appear to be Amanda Stevens who apparently had been told previously that her shirt was a concern and she handled it by turning it inside out for the flight”
Good question. For a bit I thought that was Amanda, but the five o’clock shadow made me think it wasn’t her. I guess he’s the guy who was told to remove his hat. I’d imagine if you were wearing a KKK hat, you’d have to remove it, also.
And it sounds like Amanda was kicked off because she got into a confrontation with a flight attendant. Never a good idea. Seems like people set themselves up for it. Maybe they enjoy the confrontation, making people uncomfortable, or want to make the news.
When I was in my early 40s, I got to fly first class because of my dad’s frequent flier status - I got a flight with his miles. I headed to the first class line at Logan Airport, and an airline employee said, “That line is for FIRST CLASS passengers.” “Uh, yeah, I am one?” Annoyed the heck out of me. I guess I wasn’t dressed up enough.
At the risk of creating several duplicate posts myself…what the heck happened here with all these duplicate posts? Looks like the site is acting up again! (Can a moderator delete the dups?)
Original article from my local paper. Author confirms it’s Amanda several times in answer to remarks in comment section.
Since when do airlines have the right to tell a passenger that a hat or shirt they are wearing is cause for denying them the right to be on a flight?
I would put up a fuss too and if kicked off the first thing I would do is call a lawyer.
You can’t tell a passenger to take off their hat and shirt because you don’t like what it says on it.

Funny, I thought it was just my computer!
