FWIW, I don’t think that “Delta” screwed up, I think that one flight attendant apparently screwed up.
Sure, leaping to conclusions without all the evidence is foolish, but so, as @emilybee has amply demonstrated, is just assuming that the airline personnel are justified in their actions.
