If necessary, could you have them install all of the glass and replace that piece later?
There are only 2 pieces. The large piece and the swinging door. The large piece is in place but has to be removed. The door is sitting against the wall with the hardware. It cannot get installed until large piece is set in place.
I just gave them a window of 8am to 10 am to install on Monday
@coralbrook, you are definitely earning your huge profit on this gorgeous house! You are kind to give them the 2-hour window. They better realize it and make sure they are prompt!
I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve! I can’t wait to see what the comments from buyers are and how quickly this moves.
I personally cannot wait for staging. That is when it finally comes together after days of cleaning and hustle. I usually start crying from a mixture of exhaustion and huge emotions.
Finally nailed the master bedroom color after days of samples on the wall and 3 gallons of paint wasted on the baby poop color that matched the cabinet sample. I tried to take some pics but its hard because there’s so many windows with bright light
It’s just going to be their loss if they cannot get the glass up and down the stairs before furniture starts arriving. I made it clear they are the lowest priority and furniture is coming in at 10am.
My tempered glass came in already! My carpenter is killing himself to get all the pieces and parts installed for our sandwich design which significantly lowered cost from the aluminum railings.
They’re coming on Friday for the install. Just in the nick of time.
We are scheduled for photos, including twilight photos, Tuesday night.
Awesome!! Exciting!!!
What is it with these glass guys? We just had a glass guy (a) make a frameless shower door, (b) make glass inserts for some custom-built cabinets, and © make a big beveled-edge mirror. (a) worked out fine – no problems. On (b), when the guy went to nail in the small wooden strips on the inside to hold in the glass, he missed and caused a significant crack in the glass. Back to the shop for that one. On ©, first the cut-out for the electrical outlet was in the wrong spot (two inches too high). Next, the whole thing was three inches too long. Finally, on the third attempt, he got it.
I don’t understand how this guy makes any money. I highly doubt his estimates include these problems.
As long as the stager doesn’t being those white dining room chairs! That would be awful.
Hoping for the best.
^Or the gawdawful metal stools!!!
Interior designer talked about bringing in some chairs with silver nail head detail. With my luck they’ll be those white vinyl high back ugly things… but with nail head detail !
Oh god! I can picture a gorgeous mission style DR set in that DR.
Sorry, but silver nail head detail sounds wrong to me…but whatever!
LOL about the gawdawful metal stools. I think I have those in my kitchen. Bought 'em from the stager who staged the house that I bought. (They were the only thing I bought from the stager). I kind of liked their industrial look, and they were super cheap. Guess I better go shopping before inviting BB over to my place!
LOL, nottelling! This is one of the popular kinds of those “gawdaful stools”:

$3M homes are staged with this…
I’m not a fan of metal furniture–too cold (or hot) when you sit on them to be comfortable for prolonged sitting. I prefer wood, leather of fabric, personally.
Pretty sure the staggers are using some variation of IKEA stools which are very cheap
We made it very clear no stainless, no chrome, no metal except wrought iron. We will see
Please don’t edit the typo in post 4715. It is funny! And we all need a laugh these days.
Yep! That’s what my house was staged with (in the gorgeous kitchen with carrara marble countertops and subzero fridge, etc). At the time, they looked industrial chic to me. I didn’t realize how ubiquitous they were. I really am LOL’ing. No worries though; I live a half-block from the beach so they will be rusted through in no time and I will have to toss them.
(in my defense, I do have some nice stuff, too).
Goodness, you’re all mocking the furniture stagers use because it’s “ubiquitous,” but – truth be told – it’s modern and kind of chic. My house certainly doesn’t look as good as the houses on those flipping shows! I think it’s great when an old crappy house is flipped – i.e., repaired and updated – so to me, the white vinyl DR chairs and the industrial bar stools to stage these houses, even if ubiquitous, are just fine!
