All three schools are fine, UF and Clemson have higher rated engineering schools, while FSU has the lowest OOS tuition ($21K vs. $27-29K). Clemson may have the best OOS merit aid, UF will have the worse.

FSU offers mostly software based CS programs, most UF grads are Comp Eng (more hardware), while Clemson has about an equal amount(CS majors and Comp Eng majors). If you want to work for Intel, think UF and Clemson (as a Comp Eng).

All three schools are know as “party” schools, all have very active students, and all three have pretty campuses.

You should also look into Auburn and Alabama, if you’re thinking FSU and Clemson. Alabama gives the best OOS merit aid (out of all of these schools), and Auburn’s engineering is around the same ballpark as Clemson.

On comparing UF to FSU…kids at both schools are about the same (they all went to high school together…). Both campuses have 32K+ undergrads, however, UF has many more grad students(about 8K to 18K). FSU is more OOS friendly, 8% are OOS, while UF is only 3%.

Good Luck!
