raider but if no one witnesses the beginning and only sees you getting the best of me I guess I am okay to shoot you. I guess it does not matter how the situation began once you start to win I can kill you.

If Trayvon punched Zimmerman for stalking him it wouldn’t change my personal, moral judgment of manslaughter but it would most definitely negate skittles, iced tea, 17 year old child, and racism as the motivating factor. I haven’t been following anything other than the headlines but I recall things about fb pages of Trayvon that would lend some context to Zimmerman’s claim. Not that I’d like for my teenage or just past teenage kids to feel they have to hit the ground if they feel someones hassling them but I’d hope they wouldn’t throw the first punch. Whether it’s legal or not, I’d hope they know they give up way more than they’d like as to who was actionable. Schools have been bearing down on that sort of thing for decades.

I don’t know Foxnews’ theory. That was my theory. But you are right it was not a bottle it was a can and it does look like it wasn’t in his hands when he was shoving Zimmerman’s face.

Zimmerman’s brother put out some really offensive, racist tweets as well. Please tell me how George does not take after his brother and father, especially when he PINNED DOWN the arms of a dying black teen rather than try to help save him. He had made it quite clear that TM was just another one of those punks who had been wandering the subdivision, so why should he care? Again–NO remorse whatsoever.

So catahoula, did GZ somehow figure out who TM was and visit his FB page to “learn things about him”? What “context” would justify going after him in the first place, other than that he fit the profile of previous “suspects” GZ had identified?

The witchhunt against Zimmerman is disgusting. There has been no evidence against him, every single prosecution witness has done a better job proving the defense’s case than proving the prosecution’s. This is what the Duke Lacrosse case would have been like if it had gone to trial.

Following someone is not a crime. Confronting someone is not a crime. Pounding someone’s head into concrete is.

jono–first of all there has been no evidence of pounding someone’s head into concrete.

in your world is shooting someone in the heart a crime? just curious?

In self defense it isn’t. And I guess you don’t believe Jonathan Good then.

^ Jono - Ah, so your story has changed. No one can claim you’re inflexible in your views!

New Hope it hasn’t. I still believe he wasn’t following him, and didn’t start the confrontation. But even if he did he’s not guilty.

A clear case of self defense will result in a quick Verdict of Not Guilty. Surely you have confidence there, right Jono?

I wish you were on the Jury Jono. It’s a good thing that jurors defer judgment until after the evidence is presented, don’t you think?

JonoWono, as they say, you are entitled to your own opinions but not your own facts. EVEN GEORGE ZIMMERMAN admitted he was following Trayvon Martin. But if you want to believe otherwise, suit yourself.

But I agree with you. TM was a “f–k’n punk.” GZ said it, so it must be true.

That I don’t see any racism may mean we’re not going to see anything the same, but:

[Photos, texts of Trayvon Martin show him talking about pot, fighting and trouble at school | Fox News](Photos, texts of Trayvon Martin show him talking about pot, fighting and trouble at school | Fox News)

Pertinent to my point of demeanor, attitude, etc., whether I found the source I mentioned or not.

If there is some major evidence left in the prosecution’s case I am open to changing my mind. At this point though the case has not been proven on a balance of probabilities basis let alone beyond a reasonable doubt. There’s so little evidence that even if the jury convicts him to prevent riots it’d be thrown out on an appeal. The evidence doesn’t even meet probable cause. As the Harvard Professor and attacker of racists Alan Dershowitz stated: “the prosecutor has committed a crime by charging Zimmerman there is that little evidence”

Yes, you’re right. No way things were any different than what GZ described. (Which GZ version of events was that again?)

JonoWono, how on earth can you say GZ wasn’t following TM? In his opening statement, GZ’s own lawyer said he was following TM. Or do you just have no interest at all on the statements made and evidence presented in order for you to find GZ to be a put-upon victim?

catahoula, again–what TM may have done in his past, IN MIAMI, unbeknownst to GZ, is of no relevance to the case.

A KID WALKING WITH A BAG OF SKITTLES AND AN ICED TEA in a relatively safe community should have no reason to fear being profiled/targeted/murdered.

And please stop with the NewsMax citations. For god’s sake, at least use a credible source.

Prefer that link? It doesn’t matter. There is no evidence that Zimmerman committed a crime. Yes unarmed teenagers should not be shot to death but in the absence of a crime being committed you can’t charge someone let alone convict them.
