For my careless child

I remember being relieved when reading “About your 8 year old” book. It said it was common for 8 year olds (I think mainy boys) to loose their watch. That made me feel a little better about my son.

LOL - In later years my daughter was the one that lost things (keys, wallets, etc) a lot. It was worse when she was not sleeping well. Interestingly the only time she lost a phone was in college, when she was biking a lot to work and it fell out of her pocket.

Agree - No need for an 10 year old to have a phone, especially when it gets lost a lot.

If, for whatever reason, it is absolutely necessary that this child have a phone, then shell out for the GPS and for the full lost/damaged phone insurance policy offered by the phone carrier. Nephew#5 went through phones almost as if they were candy back when he was in middle school, and the carrier replaced them every time. It cost my sister a small fortune, but it was worth it to her.

Come on now, you “mums” are responding to a ■■■■■ thread. Even I recognize that.

First post ever on cc, outrageous topic, hasn’t commented at all on the responses, rather oddly phrased?

I buy him a phone to keep him safe, such as if he goes somewhere that I can’t find him, I can call him.
