For osteoporosis, which type of specialist would you see?

I had dexascans starting aboutu 10 years ago, when I was taking a lot of inhaled (and occasional oral) steroids. The density was fine then. Have since undergone menopause and also fractured my fibula. Will see if my internist or the orthpedic surgeon wants a repeat dexascan. (Did have one since menopause & it was normal too.)

Internist had several patients in a study which required frequent dexascans, including several in SAME day. He said the readings could bounce around for same patient in SAME day, which causes him to not overly rely on them. Another data point to consider.
