If you give a price range for places to eat I can give you many suggestions. The Ensemble theatre is ‘just off of’ downtown in Cincinnati. Meaning it is a walkable distance (about a 10 minute walk depending on speed) but the neighborhood is sort of on the fringe and many people do not feel comfortable walking from the downtown hotels to the theatre.

If you are looking for more out of the downtown area and intend to drive there is a completely different selection, obviously. I think parking around the Ensemble is pretty easy (I haven’t been in a while).

Thanks, keepingcalm. We’re staying a bit out of town, and we’ll probably drive to the theater (if that’s where we end up going). As to restaurants, I’d vote for something “interesting”–either in terms of food or in terms of the feel. Super expensive is not appealing, but more moderately priced meals (say $25 or less, excluding alcohol) are OK.
