Foreign Language Placement Tests

<p>You can take any foreign language you want. If you haven’t previously studied it before, they’ll give you a form on the first day of class that you fill out to give you a score of 0. I did that with German.</p>

<p>You still have to take the placement test if you transfer credits.

For most Transfer students, a placement exam is required before beginning a foreign language course. All incoming transfer students from institutions other than South Carolina Technical Schools and USC Regional Campuses are required to take a placement exam before beginning a foreign language course at USC.</p>

<p>NOTE - Students transferring from a USC Regional campus with transfer credit in a foreign language are not permitted to take the placement exam in that langauge. Those transferring from a SC Technical College with foreign language credit are recommended to take the foreign language placement exam.

<p>Also, if you have AP credits, it’s very possible you’ll get dropped from your math class if your placement score doesn’t match up, so as soon as you register for classes, I would email the listed instructor and let them know you’re qualified via AP scores.</p>
