<p>not sure, but i think you have to then take higher-level courses. the site says: “If you take a Northwestern foreign language placement exam and are officially placed in a given level of a foreign language, you may not earn credit for a lower-level course in that language.”</p>
<p>related questions: when are we “supposed” to take the online exams? can we take them more than once? what happens if we miss the deadline (“before arriving on campus”)? …how does the whole thing work??</p>
