Actually, he had no chance of winning because he was totally out of whack with most voters’ positions on the issues. The money thing is a minor issue in comparison.

^^^I get suspicious of a candidate whos name is displayed on the fences of all of the redneck-types and biggest gun proponents in my neighborhood.

Ya know I was just thinking- I have not seen any McCain signs- Obama- yes, RonPaul yes, Clinton- no, McCain no.
( and the RuPaul signs are posted on planting strips on crests of hills that block vision of oncoming cars- I keep pulling them up & the idiots keep sticking them back in the same place)

I used to read about Ron Paul’s criticisms of Greenspan’s policies back around 2002 and 2003. Ron Paul was about the only one that took Greenspan on and made his points. Greenspan was able to charm or humiliate others that took him on.

Of course I then saw him on a debate in the last year and he looked like a total kook. He can’t handle himself in a debate. But his positions on banking and currency would be real change. The money thing isn’t a minor issue. We have the mortgage bubble, the student loan problems, the crisis in our banks, oil prices, commodity prices that are tied to it. It’s always more politically expedient to inflate but you have to pay the price for the party sooner or later.

You’re kidding yourself if you think Ron Paul would have changed anything.

Not even Thomas Jefferson could resist the power of the presidency and he’s the epitome of an Enlightenment man.

Ron Paul has the right criticisms on the banking system but the Congress is so in the pocket of the banking industry that he may have not been able to get anything done.

It’s disappointing to see that even those that have a better grasp on certain problems have been corrupted too.

That has nothing to do with the fact that Ron Paul doesn’t practice what he preaches.

Disappointing, but expected. *Insert saying by Lord Acton"

Ron Paul is part of the problem described in Free Lunch: he gives subsidies to companies.

Who, out of all of the candidates in both parties, would you pick to clean up the banking system? Eliot Spitzer doesn’t count.

Nobody. That’s the point. The whole system is corrupt and it’s a waste of time to think you can change it without addressing the roots. It’d be like a marriage counselor ignoring the physical abuse in a relationship in order to figure out how to rekindle the spark of love.
