<p>@HokieKid22 This this isn’t the first time I’ve heard of Linear and Vector being dropped. One of my math professors said the same thing this semester so I know it’s true. I just don’t know when that will be taking effect. I’d contact someone in the engineering department to see if that is true or not. </p>
<p>@agg999 Most people don’t know any programming before coming to Virginia Tech. If you aren’t confident in your Java skills, then take the freshman Software Design course. It’s taught as if nobody knows anything. </p>
<p>As for the Summer after my freshman year, I pretty much played video games and picked up some development books and read them. Nothing big. You can get involved in side projects whenever you want. There isn’t a better time than now. </p>
